The Just Transition Commission is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020 (S.I. No. 358/2020), which give effect to Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 level AA and with EN 301 549 as applicable to web content, due to the non-compliances listed in the “Non-accessible content” section below.

Following a detailed accessibility review and remediation of the HTML website, it has been aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA / EN 301 549 as applicable to web content. Measures taken include:

• A logical heading structure and clear page landmarks (banner, main content, navigation, footer) with a working “skip to main content” link.
• Improved colour contrast for text, links and interface elements.
• Accessible names for icons, buttons, menus and links, and meaningful alternative text for informative images.
• Visible keyboard focus and keyboard operability for menus, carousels and the background-video pause control.
• Support for users who prefer reduced motion.
• Corrected ARIA on dynamic components, and unique element identifiers.

Non-accessible content

1. Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

• Some downloadable documents (PDF reports, publications, minutes and similar files) were not created in a fully accessible format and may not be fully usable with assistive technologies. • Some third-party components (for example the cookie-consent banner and any embedded media or maps) may have accessibility limitations that are outside our direct control.
