Share This Post:

The fifth meeting of the Just Transition Commission took place on 12–13 June 2025. Commissioners discussed the role of just transition in climate action in the transport sector.

Commissioners heard a series of presentations on systemic changes required in transport, zero-emission vehicle transition, rural mobility, electrification of bus services and skills needs, and integrated transport‑planning approaches. Academic contributions addressed liveable communities and transport poverty, and a stakeholder workshop was carried out in the WayFinding Centre with people and representatives of groups often disproportionately impacted by transport changes and challenges.
